“Here’s My Card” ~ True Tales of A Successful Networking "Shero"

Networking is an art when you know your business and are driven to help others succeed.

My recent Ladies Who Lunch Conversations guest, Lois Whitman-Hess, Co-Founder and President of HWH PR, has been actively involved in public relations for a vast array of business sectors including technology, Internet-based companies, entertainment, law, publishing, fashion, beauty and art. Her client list is the gold standard of brands.

Still, meeting someone who has a great story to tell and a product or service to market ~ she hands them her card.

“Call me.” Invariably, they do!

Lois is a true “networking Sherpa.” And she’s loyal. To her clients and community. She is a noted, professional counselor.

Lois is a Shero: a woman admired, idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements; a heroine.

Lois was my first real boss. I worked for her and Eliot, her husband and partner, when I launched my public relations career.

We’ve stayed in touch through our professional organizations and through mutual networking - so many of whom became lifelong friends - like family, really.

Lois is a commanding, self-assured, leader, unabashed feminist.

Following Lois’ very active social media, I became ever more intrigued with the couple’s passion pursuits of art, travel, in addition to their business. Together, they appeared to have created a roadmap for “ aging with agency” or as I joke (somewhat!) knowing Lois, “aging with attitude.”

My hunch was right.

Our Conversation explores her journey from growing up in Queens to her first job at Women’s Wear Daily, to the world of entertainment and consumer electronics, and their big move from New York City to Miami.  Life gets more exciting.

It’s a funny, engaging, and inspiring

talk.

Please enjoy.

Here's how we all can continue to fuel our curiosity and sense of adventure via art, travel, & community.

We need more Lois, please!

Thank you.
