Garden-to-Gather Romantic Spring Tablescape Ideas
As we pivot from winter’s cool, dark, and neutral palette, our eyes blink back the bold, bright colors that are emerging from the garden, as a ballerina rising in relevé...
Those heart-clutching yellow & white daffodils, sweet pink tulips, purple grape hyacinths, green as far as the eye can see ~ all set against the especially electric blue sky that marks spring ~ all are a glorious seasonal inspiration. Surely, we’re somewhere over the rainbow 🌈
How nice it is to do a Garden-to-Gather table setting to match the season.
We can take our cues from Mother Nature ~ the goddess of artful decorating and an inspiration for home entertaining in style.
For my spring tablescape, I used a color scheme sparked by the spring garden ~ especially my ephemeral garden borders that are brimming with royal purple, soft Delft blues, innocent pinks, yellow tulips, and so many shades of green. The eye-popping palette leaves me breathless with wonder and awe.
I captured the spirit of the garden ~ what we designers refer to as genius loci or “the spirit of a place.”
See how I blended these intoxicating seasonal colors.
At the same time, one of the hallmarks of intriguing tablescape design is the layering. How you assemble the components is key to creating a welcome table setting that elevates home entertaining.
I find it artistically challenging and rewarding, to mix things I have ~ like plates and cutlery ~ and hallmark things, for example, like this glittery blue and purple table runner that I “won” at a charity auction (and never used for some crazy reason), along with repurposed items from the house and/or the garden ~ like plant cuttings, paper products, serving cups, or jewelry or…
And if I need to purchase some new things online or at retail, I do that to fill in what looks like an opportunity for “just that special thing’ to tickle your style itch that you saw in a catalog, magazine, Instagram ~ or some other go-to decor destinations ~ like here at Garden Glamour 😉 .
Take the video tour here (or on my shareable YouTube to see how I blended the colors and layered the look.
I’m wishing you and your family and friends a blessed spring holiday ~ Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Eid al-Fitr ~ or whatever your tradition celebrates.
It’s a time to mark the season of rebirth and hope with hospitality ~ good food and drink and lots of treats to delight your guests.
Our only hitch this year is that regrettably, our Easter dinner will not be at our home with this tablescape. Why? Mother took a fall, and while it’s just awful that she fractured her kneecap ~ we are thankful it’s not more than that. It could’ve been sooo bad.
So, keeping her immoble for a few weeks.
No “hopping” for this bunny of a Mommy 🐰😍 🐇
We’ll enjoy the day in a new/different, special way.
Cheers.
