The Urban Orchid Show Style of Mr. Flower Fantastic’s Concrete Jungle: A Love Letter to New York, Opens at the New York Botanical Garden, February 7

This year’s Orchid Show at the New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) is Mr. Flower Fantastic’s Concrete Jungle, marking the 23rd edition of the annual celebration of all things orchids. The dazzling display of the world’s favorite flower runs from February 7 through April 26, 2026. You will step into a dazzling floral dreamscape, where street scenes become floral dreams as the visionary designer and native New Yorker Mr. Flower Fantastic ~ the anonymous artist ~ transforms NYBG’s Enid A. Haupt Conservatory into a breathtaking orchid tribute to the spirit, style, and streetscape of our beloved metropolis, N.Y.C.

Known for blending floristry with popular art and street culture, as evidenced by collaborations with brands like Louis Vuitton, Adidas, and Netflix, the multidisciplinary artist’s installation at NYBG will be as monumental and awe-inspiring as the Big Apple itself.

On select evenings starting March 21, Orchid Nights, botanical block parties in blooming color offer picture-perfect outings for adults 21 and over, featuring music and dancing, cash bars, and food for purchase among the energetic color and style of the exhibition.

Today was the press preview showcasing what visitors will see this year: very, very intriguing and compelling…

Orchids of amazing colors artistically merge with the cityscape—from slice shop to stoop to subway—creating a mesmerizing tribute to the resilience, energy, and creativity of N.Y.C.

Where fire hydrants flower and orchids overflow, the exhibition offers architectural installations evoking familiar urban scenes reimagined in vibrant floral forms, plus bold color palettes and textures that capture the rhythm and diversity of New York City life.

Created around Mr. Flower Fantastic’s signature aesthetic that combines flowers, sculpture, and pop culture, this year’s Orchid Show presents a striking reinterpretation of botanical design. Mr. Flower Fantastic’s Orchid Show marks his first solo exhibition at an institution in which he expands beyond individual floral sculptures, creating an entire world for visitors to explore.

The Orchid Show is a must-see for orchid enthusiasts ~ which is really everyone and all of us!

While immersed in thousands of flowers, you can learn about orchids in the wild and NYBG’s ongoing worldwide orchid research and conservation. Did you know, that orchids aren’t just found in exotic locations such as the tropics; they’re everywhere, except Antarctica, and NYBG scientists are still discovering new species.

Are you a home orchid grower? On select weekend dates throughout the exhibition, you can learn about orchids and their care from NYBG’s horticulture staff. Check out the Garden’s full schedule for when to attend a class as part of the show.
