A Pretty Rose Tablescape Celebrates Love, Beauty & The Season…

While Roses are often a favorite centerpiece for a dining table, I wanted this table to just about "ooze" the romance of roses throughout the table decor, using their blossoms & petals in various textures & permutations.

My rose tablescape story tells of love, beauty, & yes, courage ~ all symbols of the rose. Did you know that the rose is the most popular blossom & is also the national flower of the US? 🌹

Leaning into all things rose, I used red glittery placements, red sparkly glass chargers, plates and bowls, adding in a point of calm with the white salad plate ~ that features a white rose blossom pattern ~ in order to break up the red chroma look.

I employed the same design style balance using the pink linen table runner and the centerpiece florals ~ a mix of faux and real pink & red-tipped roses.

I folded the linen napkins into rose buds ~ I just love this special napkin look ~ it’s seemingly “complex” but it’s very easy to do. Plus, it allows you to show off your table setting because it doesn’t take up so much real estate

You’ll see glass and crystal rose candle holders (sans candles), red, pink, and green glasses ~ so garden-to-table!  I even placed red rose “gummies” in some of the rose petal compositions for an added delight.

I made the “rose towers” with faux rose blossoms artfully placed in cone foam core. I designed them low enough so as not to obstruct a guest’s views of their dinner companions. The result? An easy and elegant look that you can use repeatedly and/or change out with the season and occasion. I placed the rose towers on mirrored coasters to better reflect the composition. I use mirrors frequently ~ especially if you want that shimmery & glittery look in the evening. It makes a more dreamy impression.

With a nod to October's Day of the Dead and Halloween holidays, I included gem-studded/sparkly pumpkins & skulls with roses. A Dia de los Muertes tradition is using roses in their ofrendas or altars to symbolize enduring love and passion for their beloved, deceased family members…

I’ll soon post the elements that went into the Rose Tablescape in my “Duchess Picks” here on the site. You can click on the Chapter from the Home Page.  In the meantime, if you have a question, please leave a comment or email me.

Please "Stop & Smell the Roses" in this romantic rose-inspired tablescape ~ here’s a video tour:

I created this Rose Tablescape initially for my Ladies Who Lunch Conversation guest ~ the world-class garden photographer and author, Ngoc Minh Ngo ~ who just published a book about ~~~ Roses! 🥀

I invite you to view that Conversation on the Facebook page or YouTube

Ngoc’s Rose book was the inspiration and yet, we have been able to enjoy dining at this pretty table since then...

As I was reminded recently from Grow, the magazine for members of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, “We expect roses to be at their peak in late spring, but they are a vibrant component of the autumn display…”

Cheers to Love. And Roses. And season splendor ❤️🌹🥂
